Samat continues its efforts towards more sustainable mobility
In 2026, Samat received a new Michelin certificate recognising the effectiveness of its sustainable tyre management. This certification highlights the resource savings achieved through a rigorous approach to tyre regrooving and retreading, applied across our entire fleet throughout 2025.
More sustainable tyre management
Rather than systematically replacing a tyre once it reaches an initial level of wear, our teams aim to make full use of its potential while complying with all safety requirements.
Regrooving extends the tyre’s service life by using the rubber that is still available. Retreading, meanwhile, involves reusing the tyre casing to give it a new life cycle.
These practices help reduce the production of new tyres, lower the consumption of raw materials and decrease the emissions associated with their manufacture and use.

A commitment driven by our teams
These results are directly attributable to the daily work of our technical and operational teams: monitoring tyre condition, assessing performance, carrying out regular maintenance and selecting solutions that extend tyre service life.
Michelin’s calculation method takes the entire tyre life cycle into account. The assumptions and technical data used are governed by a methodology supervised by the independent organisation DEKRA.
This new certificate confirms that rigorous equipment management helps combine safety, operational performance and a reduced environmental impact.
