European Monitors Seminar 2026: safety at the heart of our practices
The 2026 European Monitors Seminar took place last week at the APTH-BVT Technical Centre in Le Creusot.
Over two days, Groupe Samat’s safety monitors from across Europe shared their experiences and worked together towards a common goal: strengthening our Health, Safety and Performance culture.
Why hold a monitors seminar?
Monitors play a key role at Samat. They train and support our drivers every day. They also pass on best practices in the field.
When transporting sensitive materials, these high standards are essential. That is why we regularly bring our monitors together to harmonise our methods across Europe.
4 workshops on the 2026 monitors seminar programme
The trainer’s stance: influence and behaviour
Training also means knowing how to convince. This first workshop gave the monitors the opportunity to work on their teaching approach. The goal: to pass on safety rules more effectively and bring about lasting changes in behaviour on the road.
Preventing MSDs among drivers
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are among the main risks of the driving profession. The monitors learned how to identify them better. They also defined simple best practices to apply every day.
Managing emergency situations
When the unexpected happens, every minute counts. This workshop focused on choosing the most appropriate response for each situation, with the aim of improving our responsiveness.
Harmonising processes and business tools
Finally, the monitors shared their practices. They harmonised their methods and optimised the use of the tools available to them.
QHSE review and outlook
A plenary session looked back on the actions carried out since the previous seminar in September 2025. The Group’s QHSE results and trends were presented, along with the outlook for the future.
To close the seminar, Florence Dupasquier, President, and Sébastien Batlo, Deputy Managing Director, praised the monitors’ commitment. They highlighted their central role in developing our prevention culture.
